Daniel Lieberman, 1/3 of the 2009 Ig Nobel Prize-winning trio who discovered why pregnant women don’t tip over (their study was published in Nature), has a new paper out, also in Nature [Lieberman, D. E. et al. Nature 463, 531-536 (2010).] Nature comments on it:
evolutionary biologist Daniel Lieberman at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has found crucial differences in the way that barefoot and shod runners land, with dramatic consequences for how the body takes the impact (see Nature’s video).
