BONUS FACT: The Non-Simulated Plastic Duck
The first widely-popular three-dimensional plastic duck was designed by Don Featherstone. Featherstone later created the now-ubiquitous plastic pink flamingo — for which he was awarded the 1996 Ig Nobel Prize for art.
