Following on from the discussion of Herrick Kimball’s book Anyone Can Build a Whizbang Chicken Plucker, here is a discussion group devoted to Mr. Kimball’s subject:
The above photo was posted to this group by David Ely of Indiana. He built the Whizbang Plucker shown in the photo for approx. $200. Those 9 kids (count em’) are David’s. His family dresses out 150 to 200 chickens a year. He says his kids are smiling in the picture because they’ll never have to hand-pluck chickens again. “Never have we had chickens plucked so clean with so little effort,” says David.
This is a group where small-farm and backyard poultry producers can compare notes and discuss everything related to the subject of processing poultry. Much of our discussion centers around the homemade WHIZBANG chicken plucking machine.
