Join us this Thursday afternoon in Leiden, the Netherlands.
The show features Marc Abrahams and these Ig Nobel Prize winners:
- Mirjam Tuk (Medicine Prize, 2011): decision making with a full and empty bladder

- Ida Sabelis (Medicine Prize, 2000): sex in an MRI scanner – imaging male and female genitals in action
- Kees Moeliker (Biology Prize, 2003): documenting homosexual necrophilia in the mallard duck.
For local flavour, five prominent Leiden scientists will give 24/7 Lectures about their favorite topic – first a full technical description in 24 seconds and then a 7-word summary that anyone can understand:
- Anna Beukenhorst (Pharmacokinetics)
- Auke-Florian Hiemstra (Plastic bird nests)
- Michelle Spierings (Singing parrots and musicality)
- Jan van Dijkhuizen (Literature and smell)
- Tiemen Cocquyt (Antoni van Leeuwenhoek’s microscopes)
Time and word limits will be strictly enforced by Erick van Zuijlen, head-beadle of Leiden University. Francesco Camagni will live-illustrate the event.
