This one celebrates Ig Nobel Public Economics Prize that was awarded in the year 2008 to Geoffrey Miller, Joshua Tybur and Brent Jordan of the University of New Mexico, USA, for discovering that professional lap dancers earn higher tips when they are ovulating.
That research is documented in the study “Ovulatory Cycle Effects on Tip Earnings by Lap Dancers: Economic Evidence for Human Estrus?” Evolution and Human Behavior, vol. 28, 2007, pp. 375-81.

Ten new Ig Nobel Prize winners will be introduced at the 24th First Annual Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony, on September 12, 2024. The ceremony will happen at MIT, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It will be webcast live, in English and also (in a separate stream) with Japanese captioning.
