It’s a dramatic re-creation of Andre Geim‘s late-night experiment that led to the awarding of the 2010 Nobel Prize in physics (to Andre Geim and his colleague Konstantin Novosolev). [Ten years before that, in the year 2000, Andre Geim (together with Michael Berry) was awarded an Ig Nobel Prize in physics, for using magnets to levitate a frog.]
