Every year the Ig Nobel Prize ceremony and live webcast [see below] draws more attention, in more places*. This year saw another big jump. There were several years in which the increase overwhelmed our web site, knocking it into oblivion on and off for several days right after the Ig Nobel Prize ceremony, and necessitating equipment upgrades and even moves to bigger ISPs.
This, our 21st year, saw the attention level, in the press and elsewhere, jump yet again.
Our webmaster, Julia Lunetta, kept the site on its feet (albeit sometimes in wobbly condition) during the day after the Ig, while she and our ISP, Pair Networks, devised a plan to quickly upgrade to a bigger, faster server. They accomplished the move—promptly and stylishly. Our thanks to Julia and to Pair Networks!
