Ray Kurzweil, in an exclusive interview, told us about his startling new killer application — an invention he has never before mentioned in public. Ray is the man behind the Kurzweil Reading Machine for the Blind and several other breakthrough technologies.
We called Ray after seeing this December 12, 2006 Associated Press report:
Bill would allow legally blind Texans to hunt
AUSTIN ? A state lawmaker wants to make sure no Texan is left out when it comes to hunting, even if the hunter is legally blind. Rep. Edmund Kuempel, a Seguin Republican, has filed a bill for the 2007 legislative session… “This opens up the fun of hunting to additional people, and I think that’s great,” Kuempel said.
Here is our interview with Ray Kurzweil:
ABRAHAMS: Ray, do you have any plans to make a Kurzweil Hunting Machine for the Blind?
KURZWEIL: Well, we are developing a scene recognizer that describes what it sees to a blind user. But I’d wait until model 2 before using it for hunting.
