Clinton Epps joins the LFHCfS

Dr. Clinton EppsClinton Epps has joined the Luxuriant Flowing Hair Club for Scientists. Dr. Lauren Gwin, who nominated him, says:

In this photo, Clint is removing, with a lighter-sterilized Swiss Army Knife (and while wearing surgical gloves, purchased for genetic labwork), the eggs of a parasitic flea (“funza” in Swahili) from my foot (I am his wife, and I trust him with knives and flea-removal).

The photo was taken this past week in Iringa, Tanzania, where he is currently conducting fieldwork on wildlife movement through corridors connecting large protected areas.

Clint is a postdoctoral research associate working with Professor Justin Brashares, at UC Berkeley. Clint is in Tanzania as a National Science Foundation International Research Fellow.

Given that I am his wife, I’m allowed to brag on him. Especially after he so expertly removed the funza from my toe, which is healing nicely, thank you.
