June Oshiro has joined the Luxuriant Flowing Hair Club for Scientists. She says:
I have a PhD, MS, and BA in Microbiology/Molecular Genetics (Rutgers University), Food Science Microbiology (Rutgers University), and Biological Sciences (University of Chicago), respectively. You can see my name listed among the alumni of Dr. George Carman?s lab (PhD awarded in 2003, MS awarded in 1999). I spent most of my years in school studying yeast genetics and brushing my hair. Currently, I am a medical editor at Mayo Clinic. I use my scientific background and my long hair to read and repair nascent articles (clinical studies, mostly) before they are submitted to peer-reviewed journals. Thus far, I have found that the static electricity generated by the monitor that I use for electronic editing enchants my hair to no end.
