Anyone dissatisfied with current snails can come hear Anette Hosoi tell how to build a better one. His talk begins at 3:00 pm, on Friday, April 7, 2006, at Northeastern University in Boston, in room 135 of the Schillman buillding. Engineer’s Social Hour precedes it, from 2:45 to 3:00.
Professor Hosoi and two colleagues published the classic study on the subject:
“Building a Better Snail: Lubrication and Locomotion,” Brian Chan, Neil J. Balmforth and Anette E. Hosoi, Physics of Fluids, vol. 17, 1995, pp. 113101-30.
If you attend, feel free to raise the snail data transport question.
