Serena Povia and Olly Madge have joined the Luxuriant Flowing Hair Club for Scientists. Serena says:
I (Serena Povia) am a PhD student in Cambridge (UK) visiting in MIT, USA, Department of Material Science and Engineering. I graduated in physics from Bari University. My Phd project is on carbon nanotubes electronic properties and transport.
My boyfriend Olly Madge just got his Physics degree in Cambridge University and he’s interested in information theory, in particular digital fountain codes, currently working in the Cavendish Lab.
Not cutting our hair is an act of respect for the second law of thermodynamics, besides the cool and wild look that long hair gives to us. In this picture we are on a swing, trying to find equilibrium, as a metaphor of everyday life. We are physicsts after all.
