"Manual Switching Patterns in Private Offices," J.A. Love, Lighting Research and Technology, vol. 30, no. 1, February 18, 1998. (Thanks to Anthony Hitchen for bringing this to our attention.) The author reports that:
The occupants appeared to fall into two different behaviour groups: (a) people who typically switched light on for the duration of the working day, including unoccupied periods, and (b) those who used electric lighting only when daylight levels were low.
