MINI FOLLOW-UP --
The Millennium Begins July 1, 2000
A Public Notice
As announced in mini-AIR 1999-12, with the arrival of the year 2000, it became time to settle the question everyone asked and no one cared about: When does the new millennium begin?
One side insists on January 1, 2000. The other side holds out for January 1, 2001. The only way to settle it is to compromise. Therefore, the new millennium begins on July 1, 2000. The issue is hereby declared settled.
Spread the Word
Despite some minor quibbling, as described in mini-AIR 2000-01, the arguments are now over.
July 1 should be the greatest celebration ever seen. Yippee, etc.
Email the news to all your friends and enemies. If you have acquaintances in the press, please alert them so that they can alert the public to get some extra sleep on this, the most cogno-intellectual occasion in history.
