COMING EVENTS --
Sludge Cake Gala
Research events the whole family can enjoy
Looking for (northern hemisphere) scientific summer adventure and romance? You'd do well to book reservations now, early, for the event of events to be held July 5-7, 2000 at Solihull Moat House, Birmingham, UK.
Hubble on Sludge
Investigator Dave Hubble alerted us to this event. Here is his report:
Possibly the most enthralling and attractive conference I have ever seen advertised is entitled "Sewage Sludge Treatment & Use" and is billed as "IQPC's 8th International Sewage Sludge Event".
The glossy (not sludgy) brochure asks "Do you want access to the people who count in sewage sludge processes?" It also asks "Who will you meet?" and provides the answer... "Sludge Managers, Sludge Startegy Managers, Sludge Scientists". Are these titles or descriptions I wonder?
Highlights of the event include the presentation "Co-combustion of Sludge Cake; A German Case Study" by G. Dirk.
For those who are now hooked and have to go, the bookings hotline can be e-mailed on <sewage@iqpc.co.uk>.
And If You Go, Don't Miss
We direct your attention especially to day two of the conference, in which Jill Thatcher's 10 a.m. talk on "The Impact of UK Legislation on Sludge Use in Agriculture" will be followed by "Morning Coffee and Networking Break" at 10:45.
Enjoy!
