Join the AIRheads!
Quick Questionnaire:
1. Have you ever aspired to be an AIRhead?
2. Want to volunteer your curiosity, skills, and charm -- and meet some intriguing people?
4. Does this list appear to be numbered correctly?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, or if you even read any of these questions, then you might enjoy volunteering for AIR. Here are some possibilities.
Help with the website:
- Host and maintain one of our HotAIR satellite pages. Is there a HotAIR
project or collection on the website that you would like take charge of? Is
there one we don't have that you'd like to start?
- Help evaluate the usability and accessibility of HotAIR and its satellite pages. While the HotAIR style guide includes guidelines to help insure that HotAIR is navigable using both graphical and non-graphical browsers, there is no substitute for hands(?)-on evaluation. Do the names Tognazzini, Norman and Nielsen mean anything to you?

Volunteer to help with the magazine and/or the Ig Nobel Prize ceremony:
- Help with the editorial, research, production, and publicity aspects of the Annals of Improbable Research.
- Help organize the annual Ig Nobel Prize ceremony.
- Research librarians welcome! Scientists welcome! Proofreaders welcome! Student interns welcome!
- We especially welcome volunteers who are in the Boston (Massachusetts) area -- our office is in Cambridge, and many of the tasks that need doing are most easily done on or near the spot.
- Interested? Please email marca@chem2.harvard.edu.
Host an AIR Show:
Want to make your audience laugh and think? Then invite Marc Abrahams to speak at your next lecture series, conference, fund-raiser or annual dinner.
It’s improbably perfect entertainment for any group, large or small: professional organizations, colleges, businesses, museums, libraries, scientific societies, or Antarctic research expeditions. Thanks to the wealth of improbable achievements he has documented over the years, Marc’s presentation can be tailored to various topics (medicine, physics, chemistry, engineering, business, information technology, social sciences, journalism) to suit your group’s needs.
Interested? Please email marca@chem2.harvard.edu.
