January 14 (more or less), 2022.  ArisiaDramatic Readings from Improbable Research studies. Our annual dramatic readings (from Improbable research studies) has been part of Arisia for many years. Arisia 2022 was canceled because of the pandemic. Undaunted, we performed and recorded a new dramatic readings session in honor of Arisia, with dramatic readers Mason Porter, Sonya Taafe, Dean Grodzins, and Gary Dryfoos, and with Marc Abrahams compering. The video will be posted on YouTube.
January 20, 2022, Thursday, 4:00 pm (U.S. eastern time).  (Improbable) Conversation: Physics and Psychology of Cats“. The premiere of a new kind of conversation: Two researchers, in different fields, explore each other’s worlds a little bit. With physicist (and Ig Nobel Prize winner, for exploring whether cats can be both liquid and solid) Marc-Antoine Fardin, and psycholinguist (and inventor of the Wug Test) Jean Berko Gleason. Marc Abrahams will compere. This is the first in a collaborative series by The Conversation and Improbable Research. Free. Reserve a place in advance.
February, 2022 (exact date/time TBA).  Annual Meeting of the AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science). In 2022, as in 2021, the meeting is entirely virtual. Nonetheless, the annual (since about 1995) special Improbable Research session will be a featured part of it. Details TBA.
Spring, 2022.  2022 Ig Nobel Euro (and maybe Brexitannia) Tour—With mild optimism about the taming of the COVID-19 pandemic, we tentatively plan to resume the annual Ig Nobel Euro (and maybe Brexitannia) Tour, with events in several nations, maybe. Here is a glimpse at the schedule:
September, 2022. Exact date TBA. The 32nd First Annual Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony
