In late November, 1994, AIR co-founder and editorial board chairman Alex Kohn died. Alex, who was also a founder of JIR (The Journal of Irreproducible Results), was by day an eminent virologist at Tel Aviv Medical School. By evening, he was a scholar of the history of scientific fraud. At night, often in the guise of Dr. X. Perry Mental, Alex produced some of the funniest and most literate commentaries, parodies and satires ever written. He is fondly remembered.
