About Steve Farrar

Magnus and a fish
This is not Steve Farrar (it is another Improbable Research desk chief). A photo of Steve will appear here soon.

Steve Farrar is Edinburgh Desk Chief of the science humor magazine Annals of Improbable Research.

Steve has written about improbable research for 15 years, as commissioning editor at The Times Higher Education Supplement, science correspondent at The Sunday Times and science reporter at the Cambridge Evening News. He once revealed that Cambridge physicists had calculated the Hubble Constant to be 42, with inevitable consequences.

He is an Interpretation Officer at Historic Scotland, has an M.Sc. in interpretation and engages in interpretive psycho linguistics research. Steve narrowly failed to write a book about the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe but once organised a surprisingly large demonstration of surprisingly angry astronomers.
