Ig Nobel Prize winners will gather on stage to ask each other questions about their work, in the Ig Nobel Face-to-Face event on Thursday, November 6, 2025. It’s part of the Falling Walls Science Summit, Berlin, Germany, on the main stage.
Ig Nobel Prizes honor achievements so surprising that they make people LAUGH, then THINK.
The winners will be joined by Marc Abrahams, founder of the Ig Nobel Prizes. The three winners who will be take part in Ig Nobel Face-to-Face:
- Ivan Di Terlizzi and Vincenzo Maria Schimmenti, 2025 Ig Nobel Physics Prize winners (for discoveries about the physics of pasta sauce [specifically, cacio e pepe] especially the phase transition that can lead to clumping, which can be a cause of unpleasantness)
- Kees Moeliker, 2003 Ig Nobel Biology Prize winner (for documenting the first scientifically recorded case of homosexual necrophilia in the mallard duck)
And two days later, a fireside chat…
Two days after that, on Saturday, November 8, Marc Abrahams and science journalist Christina Sartori will discuss the what and why and how of the Ig Nobel Prizes, in a Fireside chat event at Falling Walls.
