A truly acute cute thing in PubMed

Yesterday we reported on several cute cases of apparent typographical errors that rendered the wore “acute” into “a cute” in citations in the PubMed database. This item, though, is different. Its title really is as it appears in the database:

Mesodiverticular Band: A Cute Little Bleeder,” K. Mukherjee, L. Fryer, Mr B. M. Stephenson, British Journal of Surgery. vol. 84, no. 1, January 1997, p. 43. The authors, at Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, UK, report:

“After tiresome emergency aortic surgery the thought of a second laparotomy for continued blood loss can be daunting. Mesodiverticular bands are not often suspected as the cause of such bleeding.”
