A College not a million miles from Oxford is worth your attention for the following reasons:
- Frustrated tutors, chewing the carpet with rage.
- Cleaner who spends every ” working ” hour buying shoes on the Internet.
- Students who have fights in the Library.
- 2 campuses but no organised transport between them.
Radiators in many places can only be adjusted with large spanners. - They’re still on – mid July.College had its own private wasp’s nest this year in a teaching room.
- Built on 17 different levels, yet tries to accommodate disabled students & teachers.
- Registrar left, not replaced. No Registrar!
- Wild eccentrics everywhere, including one Crusader warrior wandering about the college premises in full plastic-bubble-wrap “armour, and flapping cardboard visor, made from cereal box ( yes, an adult ! No, it wasn’t Carnival day !)
- Bicycle padlocked to Library stairs.
- Open-fronted garages which attract local tramps, rough sleepers and drifters.
- Local layabouts have been known to break into the college and find a vacant room to sleep off the drink.
- Others blag their way in to watch television or to do their washing in the basement laundry room, or just to find somewhere to hang around out of the rain.
- The college has also got several wandering garden gnomes.
