I have long flowing mane that has been consistently a subject for ridicule and notoriety over the decades. I have even lost a term or two at my medical school in the seventies for sporting shoulder length hair. Today, at 57, I am a professor at a medical college — my hair, though now less dense due to senility and senecence — is still long enough to draw attention and continues to remain a topic of discussion / amusement for my colleagues and students.
