Norwegian Ig angst
On this, the day before the Sixteenth 1st Annual Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony, we publish a note we received in 2002:
First let me say that I am most amused by the Ig Nobel awards concept, although I am a bit concerned by the overrepresentation of Norwegian Ig Nobel Laureates. I have been contemplating writing a scientific article on the possible reasons for this problematic state of affairs and nominating myself for the very prize awarded by your most honorable institution. But, alas, if successful, this strategy would only worsen the lamentable situation.
Instead, I urge you to pay more attention to the multitude of excellent British research in the future.
